What is TIPI?
Tipi dates back to 10,000 BC, a time when sabre-toothed tigers and woolly mammoths inhabited the earth.
Tipi is defined as "a dwelling" primarily used by the nomadic tribes of the Great Plains of America.
The TIPI is evolving with the human race, travelling a long way, protecting us from harsh weather, and hugging like a mother’s lap. This Nomadic structure was developed in the great plains of the USA and Canada by various Native tribes. The tipi connected the natives with Mother Nature and protected them from her essential changes and fury. The wheel of life revolved around tipis, Hunting, travelling, dogs, horses, and animals.
Every Native American tribe had a different design and symbols painted on a TIPI; it was like a holy place of worship for them. The symbols and designs on a TIPI are still being followed by the Native Indians in the present modern world.

The painted tipi was an important traditional art form among most American Indian Plains tribes, but with the destruction of the great buffalo herds in the latter part of the 19th century and the change from buffalo cow-hide tipis to canvas tipis, the tradition died out except among the Blackfeet. The tipis were of religious significance, being part of a complex of sacred objects, rituals, and taboos surrounding the American Indian owners as long as they possessed the tipis. According to the origin legends, many painted tipis were given to their first American Indian owners in dreams or visions. Blackfeet Indian Tipis: Design and Legend is a portfolio of twenty-six tipis.

Our Tipi is a semi-permanent home and thus can be put to various uses; it can fit all your needs very well. It can be put in your backyard, on your roof as an extra room, for a glamping inventory, for homestays and resorts, as an office, in a school, on play grounds, in offices, as a private secluded space, as a permanent house, in a farmhouse, a coffee shop, a meeting space, or a friend's outhouse.
Sizes of our TIPI
Medium Size Large Size
16, 18, 20, 24 28,30 Feet
Our tipi comes in medium and large sizes for all-year-round use. The tipi is insulated and has many accessories. Our tipi is not a tent but a semi-permanent home, like a yurt, chom, Ala-choch, and dome. Our tipi is all-weather, and thus we offer limited sizes.
Shape of our TIPI
Our TIPI concept and design are made for longer use and not as a tent, so we adopted the Sioux style, which is oval in shape for better wind and weather adaptation. The oval shape gives the tipi an aerodynamic shape that hugs it to the ground in bad weather, snow, and heavy rains. This TIPI design has come a long way and is time-tested.

What's different
Few designs innovate in TIPI for the present times and needs.
A) Inner Insulation Layer: Generally, you would have seen a single layer of fabric covering the poles in a tipi, which becomes very uncomfortable in cold and windy climatic conditions and also in hot seasons. This happens because there is no insulation. Our tipi has an additional insulation inner layer, which gives protection in cold and hot climatic conditions.
Ours is the only tipi company in the world that makes insulated tipis. The tipi needs insulation for cold climatic conditions. In ancient times, our ancestors used animal hides, and the hides and the centre fireplace protected the native Indian from harsh weather conditions, so for a tipi to be used year-round, it must have insulation.
Inner layer: we offer the inner layer in two variants.
Aluminium 8 mm, double bubble insulation layer, covered with cotton fabric
Sheep wool felt 4 mm covered with good quality cotton fabric
The insulation layer of aluminium or woollen felt is covered by a cotton fabric, which
can be printed as per the client's needs or dyed a particular colour.
![insulation](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/fa575f_1659d28c3fc34caa84cda4b19e940594~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_204,h_204,al_c,q_80,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/eco-friendly-thermal-wrap-premium-500x500.jpg)
B) Windows: Our tipi is also different because of the small oval shape (12 inches) and the four windows (two towards the front and two at the backside) for the guest to enjoy outside weather views. The windows are removable and can be fitted very easily in the socket made in the tipi's outer. In the rainy season, these windows can be closed from outside by the mere opening of the rollable windows from inside and outside. This design of the windows gives our tipi better wind circulation once opened and insulation once closed.
Outer window
1. 4x oval-shaped, 1 foot diameter, inbuilt in outer fabric, removal, 4mm polycarbonate sheets
2. Covered by a rollable window cover from the outside
1, Removable oval-shaped windows
2. Fixed rollable window cover

C) Groundsheet: Generally, a Tipi will be put to use on a wooden deck or a concrete platform for campgrounds, but for other uses, you might not be willing to put up a deck, so all you need is a raised ground where the water does not collect.
Our groundsheet is made up of 600-plus GSM PVC fabric, which is very thick and rugged enough to be used as the primary groundsheet. The groundsheet will give added protection from soil moisture and a little from the cold ground.
You can also put hay or fried grass on the ground and then put our PVC ground sheet on it in the case of cold ground. This groundsheet is different from the others, as shown below.
Groundsheet material and diameter
650 to 800 GSM circular ground sheet, 3 feet extra than the diameter.
Innovations in ground sheet
The ground sheet is 3 feet longer than the diameter, which has loops all around the circumference and gets folded on the poles once the poles are set. This gives protection from snakes and water coming into the tipi.
Any tarp, PVC-coated fabric, or old sail can be used. Concrete or stone—do it yourself.
You can look around for the material available, like old billboard sign material, etc.; Do it yourself.
The first layer is very important.
The groundsheet is the first layer of protection from the ground; wood, decking, plywood, etc. can also be used. Do it yourself.

Snake Guard
D) Snake Guard: We offer snake guard PVC 6-inch rolls, which can be filled with any material available, such as sand, concrete, pebbles, or whatever soil you might have. The same is placed on the ground sheet's circumference or all around the poles. This also has loops every three feet that are tied up to the poles for extra protection from high winds. This also protects from snakes or any other animal trying to enter the tipi. The same can act as back support.
Fabric roll: 14 oz. polycotton, off-white Available
Jute roll or coir roll Fill with sand. Do it yourself.
Super adobe rolls filled with sand—do it yourself
Plastic water roll, Fill with sand. Do it yourself.
Brick or stone wall best protection: Do it yourself

Rain Guard
Rain is a big problem for TIPI because the design is such that you have to keep the top area open. There have been many innovations like rain catchments and covers, but the problem of rain persists. The water enters the tipi by seeping through the poles, so it is very important to cover the poles from the top.
Our cover is a large circular piece of high-end waterproof fabric that has loops all around the circumference. The rain cover is large enough to cover the top of the tipi entirely and works as an umbrella. The same can be lifted by one long pole and put on top of the tipi, covering all the poles. The ropes are moved a little bit to one side and tied up to any anchor. The ropes should be tight enough so that the cover does not fly with the wind.
Rain cover fabric size and fabric details
To cover the entire pole, end on top of the tipi and also slide to the sides to cover the sides.
Fabric is 14-ounce polycotton and waterproof.
Design
The fabric circumference is looped every two feet, where the paracord is tied.
up and stretched to the bottom of the tipi poles when in need.

Mosquito Protection
(F Mosquito Protection): At times and places you will need the mosquito guard. The mosquito guard is made of a mosquito net with small PVC-coated wire twigs that can be inserted from the inside of the tipi to the top through a log pole. It has a paracord so you can remove it just by pulling when not in need. This innovation does not let the mosquito enter from the top.

Poles are the main body of the tipi and can be divided into various combinations, but a few of the poles remain fixed.
1. The north pole, the south pole, and the east pole (also known as the door pole) x 3.
2. Flap poles x2
3. Lift polex1.
First, the tripod is put together by tying three poles together.

Then four poles are placed, starting from the door pole to the north pole.
Then 4 poles are put in, starting from the door pole to the south pole.
Then two or more poles are put in, starting from the south pole to the north pole.
Then two or more poles are put in, starting from the north pole to the south pole.
The last is the lift pole, and the tipi is complete.
The two setups are different and will make a different show of the pole ends on the top of the tipi. You can choose either of them or make your own setup.

Significance of Poles
Each pole in the tipi has significance, and the old traditions must be respected.
The best and heaviest poles are chosen for the tripod, and the placement of the tripod should be like this.
Our poles are bamboo treated, heat treated, polished, and wired.
Eucalyptus Cleaned, Heat-Treated, Polished, and Beautified
Iron Do it yourself.
Wood Dowels joined together, polished, and finished—do it yourself.
Tipi poles must be cleaned and polished for a longer life. You can source these poles locally and use your ingenuity and imagination. You can also paint them with paintings, use engraving, and create art in many forms.

Ropes
I) Ropes:
Ropes are required in tipis at the below-mentioned places; the main rope that anchors all the poles to the ground must be very strong and of good quality.
The ropes that tie up the tipi cover to ground pegs all around the circumference should be synthetic in nature so as to avoid shrinkage in rain and damage to the tipi cover. Ropes are used for
1. To tie the tripod
2. To Tie all the poles together at the cross-section
3. To tie all the poles to the one anchor, which can be in the middle or on any side, the same rope extends to the base.
4. To tie the tipi cover to pegs on the ground
5. To tie the rain cover on top of the poles to the ground
6. To tie the smoke flap to the front pole
7. To loop around all the poles at a height of 7 feet for the liner
8. To loop around all the poles at the base of the liner
9. Any other use

The page is dedicated to the warriors of American planes who lived happily under the shade, warmth, and protection of TIPI.
We have given all the information about this pious structure, and my gratitude goes to all those who developed the TIPI.
For the modern man, all you need is the cover, which we can provide; other elements can be made locally.

All We Need Is A TIPI
Tipi is a versatile structure and can become a home, a yoga studio, a meeting place, a place for kids to have fun or a peaceful place to spend some time with your soul. Enjoy the TIPI; it's a beginning, and we will be updating the page quite often.
